Externalize Selected Scan Results

The main string externalization page displays, listing all the selected scan results. It contains a preview pane that will display the source file and highlight the selected Scan Result string.

You can edit the resource key and/or value by modifying the values in the table directly, or by selecting a row and then pressing the Edit button. This will display a dialog for modifying the key and/or value. If you do make modifications that you later want to undo, select the row and press the Revert button to restore the original values for the entry.

Each entry in the table can be Externalized, Ignored, or Internalized. The first column indicates the action chosen for the entry:

• Check Mark - indicates entry will be externalized
• X Mark - indicates entry will be ignored
• Arrow - indicates entry will be internalized

If you click on the first column of an entry, the mark will cycle to next mark. Alternatively, you can select an entry and use the Externalize, Ignore, and Internalize buttons to set the action for the entry.

The actions and their meanings:

• Externalize - Externalize the string. This is the default action for scan results with an active or todo status. The status will change to filtered.
• Ignore - Ignore the string. This will mark the scan result with an ignore NLS marker and set the status to ignored.
• Internalize - Internalize the string. This remove the ignore comment if the issue was previously ignored, and sets the status of the issue to active. Otherwise, no action is performed.
